DT Cannon

What is it?

The DT Cannon is a very powerful Tetris opener, but you don't get many chances to use it. The DT in the name stands for Double Triple, because the opener consists of a T-Spin Double and a T-Spin Triple right after. To build the DT Cannon, your game needs to start with an L-piece followed by an S-piece. You first need to place the L-piece flat in the middle. If you're playing a modern version of Tetris, you shouldn't need to move or rotate the piece, just place it. The same goes for the S-piece, you can just drop it without rotating it. Then, you place a T-piece on top of the S-piece, no movement needed. To complete the DT cannon opener, you need to place a yellow O-piece all the way to the right, and then place a J-piece vertically ontop of it. The right side of your board can be filled however you would like, but there's variations that let you get more attacks out of your stack. Finally, you need to place another L-piece vertically on the left-most part of the T-piece to get your overhang to kick the T-pieces through when you want to T-Spin.

Continuations

There are a few ways to get extra attacks out of your DT Cannon. You can get a Perfect Clear if you memorize a pattern (there's many Perfect Clear patterns), an Amemiya Cannon (Extra T-Spin Double if PC doesn't work), an infinite DT Cannon loop (good for score), and my favorite, which is a C-Spin on top of the DT cannon. The C-Spin is a T-Spin Triple followed by a T-Spin Double, where as a DT Cannon is a T-Spin Double followed by a T-Spin Triple. Getting a C-Spin right after a DT Cannon sends an enormous attack over to your opponent, and you dont need to memorize many different stacks like you would with a Perfect Clear.
